Are there dentists in singapore who can work on continuing monthly dental braces adjustment only?

i'll be leaving for a training in singapore from August-December only and i'm worried about the monthly adjustment and cleaning that my dental braces need for the period i'm there. if there are dentists who can work on it while i'm there, what will they require from me and how much more or less would it cost me?

I would consult with your current orthodontist first.. You really don't want to stuff up your great orthodontic treatment that you have probably already payed for!





Maybe you will just need to delay your treatment for those 4 months. and continue when you get back. That will mean your braces won't be doing much tooth movement in that time.





The problem is that orthodontists have different ideas of what looks acceptable and switching orthodontists temporarily mid treatment may put you through unwanted tooth movement for the orthodontist that needs to fix it up when you get back.





Think of it this way. the more you move a tooth the higher the risk is that the root will become shorter, and if your new orthodontist as good as they may be, moves a tooth in one direction, then when you get back your other one wants to move it back, then thats movement you don't really want.





But getting a clean every now and then is up to you whether you get. With a correct technique and brushes you should be able to clean your braces for that amount of time, but if you really feel you need a monthly clean it costs roughly $45 for a scale of your teeth according to the singapore Guideline for dental fees.





I have included an email to the Association of Orthodontics Singapore, if you would like to ask them about costs of treatment for maintaining braces. Again though consult with your orthodontist whether he thinks that it is a good idea.
