Help! I dont have dental insurance and I need dental work....?
Look up a dental college and give them a call or walk in. We use to sit there all day if they said there was no space. Sometimes someone cancels. I've had several things done at very low cost. Another option is to get a dental credit card. It's long term at low interest. Or ask if you dentist offers payment plans. If you are a student, ask if they offer any discounts. My sister asked and they offered 10% off the bill, she just had to provide proof. Glad she asked. =) Also look to see if they offer plans. Places like western dental. Or ask about dental plans from medical insurance companies (kaiser, blue cross, delta dental, etc.) I have Blue Cross and it costs $18 a month but some are cheaper. Good luck!
Reply:Find a local dental school, the students there will do all your dental work for a cheaper rate or maybe for free.
Reply:look in your phone book~ sometimes towns have small clinics that will let you put some money down and then pay it off in payments!

good luck!!
Reply:I am in the same predicament as you. I do not have dental insurance, and I need alot of work done. I don't understand why my teeth are acting the way they are. I brush 2 times a day, and I still get cavities.

I can't afford to flat out pay for all the work to be done. But I am researching some dental plans. They are not insurance plans, but discounted plans. For one person it is about $10 a month, and for a family a few dollars more. Just google dental plans. Hope this helps!
Reply:If there is a dental school in your area, you might want to give that a try. Their fees are about half that of a private dentist.

Hope this helps a little.
Reply:Dental schools or community dental clinics might be a good choice.

Beware of so-called "discount dental plans" which promise things they can't deliver.

Some say they will save you up to 50% of the dentist's normal fees. That just isn't possible. A dentist needs some profit margin in order to pay rent, employees, insurance, labs, etc. In order to accept "discount" patients, they must find a way to increase their fees or add treatment that isn't covered in order to make up the loss.

You'd be better off putting the money they charge for these "non-insurance plans" in the bank and saving towards your treatment.
