Dental work while in the military?

I'm soon going in the military and I know they insure you both dental and medically under Tricare program, but is that only for necessities? I'd like to get braces or invisaligne to straighten up my teeth.. Will the military help me out with that, or even pay for it all?

Dental work while in the military?
They will do it but right now probably not since that would put you in a class 3 or 4 and non-deployable..Atleast that what the Army does. But when you get to Permanant party when you are inprocessing ask the dental clinic. By the way you are not covered under tricare...That's only for dependents. Active duty is just covered by the military. Tricare only covers medical and the sponser(You) has to get dental insurance thru United Concordia that is if you have dependents...Good Luck
Reply:some do cover all as you see when they return home they have the whittest teeth.
Reply:Having worked in an army dental clinic, I can tell you that in my experience usually only severe cases would be approved for orthodontics. Every now and then they would take mild cases for interns to practice on. I suppose every branch of the military is different on their requirements, so I guess it will just all depend on where you're going. Good luck, I hope it works out for you.
