Is there such a thing as a dentist that will give free, reduced, or even a payment plan on dental work?

I am very low income and in desperate need of dental work.

Is there such a thing as a dentist that will give free, reduced, or even a payment plan on dental work?
its free on the NHS.
Reply:Yes in the u.k
Reply:call your county. there should be a non profit dental clinic in your county or nearby county.

go to a dental school.

call welfare, they should have a list of nonprofit, low income dental clinics.

Work for a dentist, and get your work for free.
Reply:Our dentist offered us a payment plan through Wells Fargo, so if your credit is OK, you should be able to get something like that.
Reply:if your that poor and living in the united states, welfare covers dental. also, i know my dentist will take paments
Reply:See if there is a dental school in your area. The students are very closely monitered under a dentist and the work is usually free. It usually takes several hours though.

If not, just call around and see if you can find someone. Send out e-mails to the dentists that have websites.....maybe someone will give you a good payment plan
Reply:Hi, I'm a dentist.

Many dentists will offer interest free or low interest payment plans to make costly dental work more affordable. A down payment is usually required, however.

Dental schools may be another option, though the fees can still be costly (typically they are 1/3 to 1/2 what you would pay at your neighborhood dentist). My dental school offered a payment plan as well, interest free. Keep in mind dental schools will usually also require a lot more of your time (appointments typically are 4 hours long, and a procedure that would take one or two appointments at your local dentist may take more than 4 appointments at the dental school).

Most major metropolitan areas have free or sliding pay scale dental clinics for the poor. Check with your local chapter of the American Dental Association (ADA) if you're in the states to determine if there is such a clinic near your home.

Good luck.
Reply:I work in a private office, and we give a courtesy discount to those that do not have insurance, as well as a reasonable payment plan following a deposit... it seems to work well, and those on the payment plans have their balances paid off in six months, interest-free.

So, yes, there are dentists out there who'll do this.. you just need to find them.
Reply:depending on where you live, there are dental clinics that do dental work for lower fees and also there are some dentists that do work for free on a volunteer basis to low income families.

I do hope you find someone in your area. Good luck to you
Reply:The dentist that we just hired last year in my office has told me that a dental school is good if you need low cost (It isn't free) dental care, but only if you have alot of free time. He says that he has seen patients wait for hours to be seen, or even wait for hours and be turned away. Not everyone who applies for services at a dental school gets accepted.

There is usually some type of low income dental office in each county, but you can't expect to get top quality work. The staff is usually moderatly trained, they use "generic" or low cost materials, and/or have a long wait.

Many offices accept payment plans, however most use dental financing programs such as Capital One or Care Credit. You can go to Care Credit.com and submit an application for a loan, and then they will give you a list of dentists in a specific zip code who accept this plan.

This is not an insurance but a discount plan that can save you a lot on dental, vision and other services
