I'm 8 months pregant and I need some dental work done.....?

I plan on breast feeding, will it be better to have the dental work done while I'm still pregnant or should I waite untill the baby is born. I knew that i needed work done before i got pregnant, but i think that the preganacy is taking a lot from me therefore making my teeth weaker and more prone to infections! What do you think would be best?

Do you think MAYBE you should be asking your dentist and your OB/GYN these questions?????
Reply:If it is causing you any pain than get it done now. Dental work is safe during pregnancy but just tell them you're pregnant. No x-rays though!
Reply:Get it done now. I didn't get work done, and then had to deal with major tooth ache, listening to a baby cry and then going to an emergency dentist when my daughter was 4 weeks old, I couldn't take her with me, nor feed her before I went, and I was so worked up about it all I ended up sitting in a dentist chair sobbing instead of getting my treatment.





Please get it done now, you won't want to be in that situation...I remember telling a dentist I preferred childbirth to the toothache!


Please don't let yourself get into that situation.





EDIT: I just read the first answer- you can have x-rays, just tell them you're pregnant and will take the proper precautions :) Oops, just re-read, you're 8 months pregnant, they probably won't need telling!!!!
Reply:I had my teeth worked one during my third trimester and it was horrible. Anyway, I didn't go to a good dentist. I think that if your teeth are infected you should get you teeth worked on. Make sure your dentist knows that you are pregnant before anything is done and also have the dentist move your chair up for you at least every ten minutes, so that your baby gets enough air.
Reply:Your doc can give you antibiotics for the infection, and your denist probally can't do any work until after the baby comes, but my denist said to boil out mouth with peroxide, helps kill infectious germs, and eases the tooth ache for a moment.
