I have very little income and need dental work done?

Where in the northeast wisconsin area can I get free or very low cost dental work?

I have very little income and need dental work done?
Hi! I have been in dentistry for over 25 years. Shhh lol

Two things to try. The local hospitals that have a free dental clinic. I use to volunteer then 1 wednesday a month and did free dental from 9-5. Sometimes I would come in the next day or week later to finish. That was my pay it forward to help others get good dentistry and little or no cost. Also I would help teach the new dental students. They are real dentists, so don't panic, they want to do go so they get a position.

Second is the dental schools themselves. Even though it is a wait, you will get good care because the dental student is graded.

If you do not want to do this, call the local dental board of your State and ask what new dentists have started in your area. They may do a sliding fee. I did in the beginning to build up my practice and get new patients. Also you could work out a payment plan and a step by step treatment and I do one free thing a year for each patient that has lots of dental work done. So if they need 4 crowns, I charge them for 3 1/2. That's a 500. savings. If they need 4 fillings I charge them for 3. That's about 175. for a very large filling. Only it they schedule to do them all at once(obviously in reason). I put head phones on, or crank up the TV and they hold a teddy bear and off we go. It is just as easy for me to do three fillings side by side then bring the patient back and have to give them a shot three times. Also since I already have the materials out, I can do them all at once and the patient doesn't have to come back. Be up front and tell the detist what you can afford. Tell him you want to have your confindence back with a great smile and you know it will be time and money consuming, but you can only do it if he can work with you. I do it all the time. I'd rather cut back the cost and help the patient, then be so money hungry they can not get care and are very sad. But I too have to pay by staff, overhead and me. So I can only do so much a year. I wish I could do more. If I ever hit the lottery, I would work for free!! Marie
