Why dose dental work have to cost so much?

you see I am 23 yrs old and I have already had about 13 to $15,000.00 dollars done in dental work and I still need about $26,000.00 to 30,000.00 dollars worth of work done and thats after my insurance pays for most of it and it really sucks I am always in pain and my current dentist can only help me with the pain so much with out any work being done cause i just can't afford it all right now i have been trying to get a little done at a time but it is just so crazy and I didn't ask for this to happen to me its freaking genetic it dosen't matter how much i brush my teeth they just kept rotting away so if there is any dentsist out there that would be willing to help me I would greatly appriciate it my husband is a plumber and he makes pretty good money but its gonna take us a couple years to get my teeth fixed and who knows how many teeth i'll have left by then

Why dose dental work have to cost so much?
The last time I had a sewer line cleaned, the guy was in and out of my driveway in less than 15 minutes. His bill was $169.00. That's more than double my hourly rate. Why did that cost so much?
Reply:Ask your dentist if he takes payments. Or there are credit card specially for dental work. Some dentists offer this or you can ask your credit card provider. Or shop around for a better dental plan. Either from your work or on your own. Some dental offices offer plans too. Or go for a second opinion. Or tell the dentist about your financial situation and ask if they can do only the necessary work first. No cosmetic. Or ask if dentures could be an option. Some city clinics offer low cost medical/dental work. Or call around and see if a sympathetic doctor does probono work. Good luck!
Reply:if you dont have insurance you should try a discount dental plan it saves you up to 80% of what youre paying! i can send you info on it its only 11.95 per month you can check the site out. most ongoing dental you would have to check if youre dentist would still allow the plan but normally it covers up tp 80% on caps crowns orthodontic work cleanings whitenings xrays etc etc and it comes with a vision prescription and chiropractic plan at no additional cost email me if your interested i cant really solicit on here

Reply:The local university in your area may have a dental program and they are always looking for patients .....that would save you alot of money. The problem is that you spend a lot of time there because they are just learning. You need to determine what is most important to you...money, good dentistry or time???
Reply:Your dentist is ripping you off.
Reply:If there's a university with a dental school near you, see if they have dental students who will work on your teeth for less money. I have had dental work done that way and it is extremely cheap. A professor checks all the work, every step of the way.
