Sore throat after extensive dental work, no other symptoms.?

I'm in the first 1/3rd of getting a complete dental work up, the last 3 weeks I've had 2 sessions a week lasting just over 2 hours each. The last was this past wednesday. Thursday night my throat became a bit sore and worsened over the last few days. There's no swelling or other typical signs of cold/virus. Could this be sore's caused by the dental work (ie decay draining down the throat). I've been rinsing with salt water %26amp; the last few weeks I'd been brushing with salt water and baking soda as part of my treatment. I haven't felt much relief and though I have a high pain threshold I can hardly sleep at night, even with otc and prescription pain killers. What could the cause be?

i have that sometimes, it never goes away, but now its gone

well, i ve noticed when im busy, i dont notice it, try to go outside for fresh air, rinse with warm water and salt before you go to bed, and go see a doctor

and dont think about it, it makes the pain worse, i know its hard
Reply:probably unrelated to the dental work. Call you dr and check for strep throat.
Reply:Hi,, sorry to say,, but your right,,, the holding open your mouth and all the dental work... is a killer on the throat..... i had the same problem......

As nasty as it tastes..... get the mint flavor Listerine.... it may help kill any germs...

good luck
Reply:Don't overlook the possibility that this could be just a coincidence. You may have something going on with your throat that is totally unrelated to dental treatment.

2 hours is a long visit, though, and it may just be muscle soreness...
