Does anyone on here work in the dental field?

i would like to meet someone who works in the dental field just to see wat it is like to work in the dental field. if u do u can email me.

You are welcome to email me, but if you are interested ask your dentist to spend time at the office observing for an afternoon. You could get a chance to talk to the staff and ask pertinant questions. You could talk to the director of your local college's dental hygiene program for more information or even be a student at their clinic were the hygienist's train. Ask yourself if you like working with the public, some people just don't like to and would rather be behind a computer screen. I have been a dental hygienist for 15 years (next month) and love what I do!

and I want to be a dentist or orthodontist...I've researched it a lot and I know a lot about it and I even get to practice on my moms teeth, its really really fun.

Reply:I was a dental assistant for 2 years and now I'm the administrative assistant (receptionist, but duties include sending insurance claims, entering insurance payments, backing up the... back... and other things - been doing this for 2 years now). My stepdad is the owner, and the main dentist, and he's been in practice for 20 years... we have 2 other dentists at our office. :)





We're like one big happy family! I love my job.
Reply:I've been a RDA in an orthodontic office for 6 years. I went from chairside to treatment coordinator about 1 year ago. Basically I explain treatment, finances and insurance to new patients and their parents when they come in for their initial exam. When I was chairside, I put the braces on, did monthly adjustments, removed the braces, took x-rays, photos and impressions.





I love my job!!!
